Lycos Europe: from search engine to portal

Lycos started as a search engine with an own search technology.

Today, Lycos Europe is an internet portal which operates a worldwide network of websites in eight languages.

With its combination of search, communication services, content-channels, homepage building and online communities the company aims on the one hand at private users and on the other hand at advertising companies from the consumption sector.

In the case of the search and the commercialization of sponsored links Lycos Europe cooperates with Overture (Yahoo!).
